We suggest that you read the biographies of any of the mentors you are interested in (click on the bio tab next to their picture and you will be taken to their information) and when you are ready to select your mentors, return to your mentee application form (go to the Mentoring Scheme menu and choose 'become a mentee') and choose your mentors from the drop down boxes in the form.

Carla C. Baan, PhD, is Associate Professor and head of the Transplantation Laboratory at Erasmus Medical Center, University Hospital Rotterdam, The Netherlands. Her position involves the supervision of doctorate research related to the role of cytokines, regulatory T cells and mesenchymal stem cells in clinical organ transplantation. Dr Baan obtained her doctorate from Erasmus University.

Dr Baan has served as the primary author for over 30 peer-reviewed articles and has contributed to 90 additional publications. She serves as a reviewer for the American Journal of Transplantation, Transplantation Proceedings, Transplantation, the Journal of Heart and Lung Transplantation, Transplant International, Human Immunology, Transplant Immunology and European Journal of Immunology. She is the chair of the Basic Science Committee of the European Society for Organ Transplantation, a member of the Basic Science Committee of the Transplantation Society, and a member of the International Cytokine Society, the Dutch Transplantation Society, the Dutch Immunology Society and the Dutch Nephrology Society.
