We suggest that you read the biographies of any of the mentors you are interested in (click on the bio tab next to their picture and you will be taken to their information) and when you are ready to select your mentors, return to your mentee application form (go to the Mentoring Scheme menu and choose 'become a mentee') and choose your mentors from the drop down boxes in the form.

Josefina Alberú, has been staff member of the Transplantation Department at the Instituto Nacional de Ciencias Médicas y Nutrición Salvador Zubirán (INCMNSZ) in Mexico City since 1989 and Head of the foregoing Department since 1995, and Professor of Transplantation at Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. She graduated from Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara, Mexico, with the highest honors in her generation.

Her primary aspiration has been training a substantial amount of residents in renal transplantation, who are presently heads of various government transplant programs across Mexico.

During previous years she have served as president of the Mexican Institute for Nephrological Research and of the Medical Association of the INCMNSZ. She is a founding member of the Mexican Society of Transplantation and an active member of the National System of Investigators. She is a member of the AST´s Women´s Health Community of Practice.

Her fields of investigation are varied and include the clinical and epidemiological aspects of renal transplantation, receiving funds from the National Council on Science and Technology. During her profesional career she has authored more than 70 articles and book chapters in the field of transplantation, and has participated in numerous national and international meetings.
