I am a 46 year old, married nephrologist with two daughters: the elder one 19, 1st year medical student, and the younger one is 12. I began my study of medicine in 1983 in Tehran University of Medical Sciences and attained specialty in Internal Medicine in 1993 and subspecialty in Nephrology in 1997(1st rank). Currently, I am Professor of Nephrology in Tehran University of Medical Sciences and director of Iranian Tissue Bank Research and Preparation Center. I was Vice dean for research in faculty of medicine and director of Management Center of Transplantation & Special Diseases through 2003-2005 and 2005-2007 respectively. By developing appropriate strategic planning for different aspects of RRT, one of the achievements in the latter period was 60% increase of bicarbonate based dialysis coverage in the whole country.

My major research interests lie in the epidemiologic features of ESRD and RRT in developing countries especially transplantation and different aspects of CKD.
